In Which Situations Should the Tandem Cycle Be Preferred?

It is preferred by individuals who have had numerous unsuccessful IVF attempts and wish to use their own eggs one last time. This small number of eggs is supplemented by the addition of donor eggs.

Treatment Procedures

Stimulation begins with hormone injections to stimulate the development of the expectant mother's own eggs. A young, healthy donor with proven fertility is also stimulated with hormone injections. Once the eggs are ready, first the patient's eggs, then the donor's eggs are collected. Separate microinjections are applied to the collected eggs using a sperm sample from the prospective father. On the fifth day following embryo development, the embryos with the highest pregnancy potential are transferred, based on their quality.
