LAWS IN CYPRUS

No Marriage Requirement: Marriage is not required, and single women can receive treatment.

Same-Sex Patients: Same-sex couples can also benefit from treatment opportunities.

Age Limit: The legal maximum age is 45; however, clinics are granted discretionary authority, with the approval of the Ministry, for patients up to 55 who meet certain medical criteria and undergo special tests for "Suitability for Pregnancy."

Gender Selection: Gender selection is prohibited only when medically necessary (e.g., to prevent genetic diseases).

Donations:

Egg Donation: Legally, the woman wishing to donate eggs must be between 20 and 35 years of age.

Single Donor-Single Recipient: The single donor and single recipient principle applies to egg donation.

Donor Health: Women wishing to donate must have undergone infectious disease testing and have no genetic predisposition to any disease.

Embryo Transfer: The maximum number of embryos that can be transferred is 3.

Organ and Tissue Storage: There are no legal restrictions on the storage period of embryos, eggs, and sperm.

Legal Transactions: Every transaction carried out within the borders of Cyprus complies with the legal framework.
